Domestic Violence
RMSM is developing a list of local counseling and housing resources for domestic violence victims and will make this list available to our local shelter and faith-based organizations.

RMSM refers victims to ARMS (Abuse Recovery Ministry Services) for connection to one of their many local and online weekly groups, since our local shelter reports they regularly have women request faith-based resources.
RMSM is looking for local attorneys to provide volunteer legal assistance to domestic violence victims, since rarely do victims have the resources to retain counsel. This program is called, “Stand by Me”, since having counsel stand with them in the courtroom reportedly significantly increases the chance of protective orders being approved.
We are also exploring models for providing temporary housing for domestic violence victims and are keeping our eyes open for location(s) within Polk County, Oregon. The current need for housing is desperate.
This program is currently being developed. Stay tuned!
